Villa Loren has been recently
restored with great care and attention retaining its original
characteristics such as terracotta floors and beamed ceilings and is
very nicely furnished in typical Tuscan country style. The house,
which is on two floors, has been cleverly divided into two adjoining
apartments connected via and internal door in the living rooms, so
perfect for those wishing to share a private detached villa and pool
yet retain some privacy.
Each apartment has a ground floor consisting of a fully equipped
kitchen, which opens directly onto the villa’s covered terrace
running the length of the house and furnished with table and chairs
for dining al fresco whilst enjoying the charming view of the pool
and garden. Each also has a separate living room with fireplace,
settee and satellite television, a bedroom and shower room. A wooden
staircase leads from each apartment’s living room to the first floor
where there is a large bathroom with hydro massage tub, a double
bedroom, and a twin bedroom per apartment. The twin bedrooms open
onto a little covered loggia balcony and external steps leading to
the garden.
Villa Lorena’s covered terrace faces the large garden, where there
is a barbecue and an inviting swimming pool (12m x 6m), the perfect
spot to relax whilst enjoying real peace and tranquillity. The
surrounding countryside is the owners farmland, genuinely beautiful
panoramas of swaying cornfields, and vineyards, with nothing to
disturb the peace except the comforting chug of a faraway tractor.
There are many country walks to be enjoyed and horse riding is
available nearby.
When you can tear yourself away, there is plenty to see in the area.
Within walking distance (500m approx) is a tiny hilltop hamlet with
local shops, bar and restaurants, and a larger selection are
available at San Casciano dei Bagni also well known for its natural
thermal spas. Lazily explore unspoilt little towns close by and
Southern Tuscany’s more famous treasures such as Montalcino,
Montepulciano, Pienza and Siena are all within easy driving
distance. Further south Orvieto, and Lake Bolsena are well worth a
visit and even Rome is only one and a half hours’ away. |
