Villa Glorious is a lovely restored country house immersed in the
countryside yet within easy walking distance of the village of Lucignano.
The villa offers simple but comfortable accommodation in a beautiful area of
Tuscany. In its grounds, which enjoy pretty views, there is a private
swimming pool, a lovely furnished terrace with gazebo, and covered barbecue
area with table and chairs. |

The villa
itself is divided into two parts. A short
flight of stairs leads a porch and the
entrances to the two halves of the villa.
One entrance opens into a long hallway, off
which there is a large fully equipped eat in
kitchen, a lounge with settee, armchairs and
satellite television, two double bedrooms,
and two bathrooms, one with bath, the other
with shower. On the same floor connected via
the porch is the entrance to the second half
of the villa where there two more bedrooms,
one with twin beds, the other with double
bed and a further bathroom.
The villa is enhanced by its ample grounds
where there is a private swimming pool (12m
x 8m) surrounded by lawns and with pretty
views of the countryside, a terrace shaded
by a gazebo and furnished with table and
chairs for dining al fresco and a small
‘capanna’ farm building has been transformed
into a covered barbecue area also with table
and chairs.
A walk of 500m leads to the charming
medieval village of Lucignano, which is a
joy to explore in itself and has a selection
of shops and restaurants.
Within easy driving distance of the villa
are many other jewels of Tuscany. Siena with
its shell shaped piazza and beautiful
Cortona are close by, and Montepulciano,
Pienza, Lake Trasimeno and even the Umbrian
towns of Perugia and Assisi can all be
easily reached. The main motorway link is
only 20 minutes drive away, making also Rome
and Florence easily accessible. |
