Il Poggio di Sopra rests on top of a hill only 10 minutes walk from the medieval town of San Gimgnano and its famous towers. Originally the stables of a traditional Tuscan farmhouse, the apartment has been recently restored to a high standard, next door lives the owner's niece, and above is the owner's apartment occasionally used by them at weekends and holidays. Il Poggio di Sopra is secluded by mature trees and has its own private garden enjoying a wonderful view of San Gimignano towering in the distance above the olive groves and vineyards. The garden is furnished with table and chairs, pergola, sun recliners and barbecue, and is the perfect spot to unwind and dine alfresco whilst taking in the view.

The apartment is tastefully furnished to a high standard in classic Tuscan style. Both the kitchen and the double bedroom with en suite shower room open on to the patio leading to the garden. The spacious lounge can also accommodate an extra one or two persons, and the attentive owners have added a second shower room. Il Poggio di Sopra really is the best of both worlds, secluded in tranquil countryside with lovely views all around, yet medieval San Gimignano and its shops, supermarket and restaurants are easily accessible on foot via a quiet country lane. The public swimming pool is only 3km away and Florence and Siena are both easily accessible via bus, train and road links from nearby Poggibonsi 11km down the road. In the grounds of Il Poggio di Sopra there is a vineyard and an olive grove. The owner will be happy to show you his wine cellar which is in a cave shaded by a centuries old helm oak tree.
