La Cappellina, is located in a very convenient position just off a country road that leads to medieval San Gimignano and its famous towers, only a 800m walk away. This lovely house, which was originally a barn, takes its name from the tiny shrines that can be found along many Tuscan roads. It has been very recently restored to its original splendour by the friendly owners who live in the house next door and now forms a lovely detached house on two floors. At the front of the house there is a large terrace, the former threshing floor of the barn, which is furnished with table and chairs for dining alfresco, at the side of the house is a garden area with a gazebo, and the second terrace at the rear of the house is a lovely spot for relaxing in the evening, whilst sipping a chilled glass of the local Vernaccia wine and watching the sun set over the vineyard covered hills beyond.

La Cappellina has been rennovated to a high standard, with many original features of the house, such as terracotta floors and beamed ceilings retained and its large windows give a light and airy feel. Large glass patio doors lead from the front terrace to the living room which has a comfortable sitting area, with settee (which converts to a double bed on request), armchair and television, there is a separate brand new fully equipped kitchen, a shower room, and washing machine. Steps lead from the ground floor to a first floor bedroom with double bed, and en-suite shower room. The owner has a added some family possessions creating a personal feel to the furnishings, and examples of her lovely craft work are framed and adorn the white washed walls of the house.

La Cappellina is a perfect example of a well restored Tuscan barn now offering lovely accommodation, privacy and plenty of space for relaxing, in an excellent position in the countryside but so close to San Gimignano that the towns many historic monuments, craft shops, and restaurants can be explored on foot. Once you have exhausted the delights of this beautiful town, Siena and Florence, to name but a few of Tuscany’s attractions, are easily accessible via the rail, road and bus links at Poggibonsi only 11km away, and there is a public swimming pool at Santa Lucia 3kms down the road. Parking is in the grounds next to the house.
